Michael J. Zigmond

With sadness, the 乐播传媒 shares the passing of Michael J. Zigmond of Woods Hole on August 28, 2023. A member of the 乐播传媒 Society, he was retired as professor of neurology at the University of Pittsburgh. The 乐播传媒 flag will be lowered in his memory.

Dr. Zigmond was a 1979 alumnus of the 乐播传媒 Neurobiology course and was active in the development of the Summer Program in Neuroscience, Excellence and Success (SPINES) at 乐播传媒.

His research focused on the mechanisms of Parkinson鈥檚 Disease and the usefulness of exercise and social interactions in its treatment. He also served as course director of the Neurobiology of Brain Dysfunction course at 乐播传媒 in 2011.
